The Brief
The clients were having a new extension built and wanted a new seating area to flow from the new part. The existing patio was quite narrow. They knew they wanted a water feature and planting but were unsure which feature to choose and how to shape their new seating area.
The house and garden was large and I wanted to produce a patio in proportion to it. The house was traditional but the extension would be more modern so it was clear that a classic contemporary design was needed to work with both styles.
The new patio leads off the extension and comprises raised planters containing elegant plants and a beautiful water table water feature. Focus was provided by planning a path down to a new seating area at the bottom of the garden.
